[English]

Balance maintenance is one of the most fundamental functions of the neuromuscular system in performing all simple and complex activities, especially in different jobs. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of functional training on firefighters' balance. In the present study, 30 firefighters were randomly selected and assigned to two groups of control and experimental. Functional balance test designed for firefighters was used before and after eight weeks of training intervention. In the experimental group, functional exercises were performed for 8 weeks, three sessions per week and for 90 minutes in each session. Data were analyzed using independent t-test. The large errors of the experimental group in the post-test showed a significant reduction as well as the execution time of the functional balance of the experimental group was significantly reduced. The results showed that the effect of functional training on the functional balance of firefighters is positive . Therefore, it is suggested that to improve the performance of firefighters, their training program should be developed and implemented based on the most important movement needs such as static and dynamic balance.
